Mount Sabalan
Sabalan, the third highest peak in Iran after Damavand and Alamkooh, is an inactive volcano. The peak is about 4811m altitude and a small lake is located at the peak. The lake occupies an area of 50 by 50 meters, and depth is about 15 meters and it is covered with ice from late September through early June the next year. Many people climb it every year, the routine path is easy but there are also hard routes and glacial valleys. Natural hot spas on the slope, nice scenery in summer, and Alvares ski resort make this site noteworthy for travelers.
